Build your character on the site
Published · 1 min read

The Thread of Fate is the studio's character builder for the Convergence tabletop game. It comes as a Roll20 sheet and a desktop program, and now it runs on the site, tied to your reader account.
Getting started
- Sign in, or sign up first. The builder needs an account.
- Press Build a character in the header to reach your characters.
- Press New character, and the builder opens with a fresh sheet.
- Work through the steps. Every change is saved to your account as you go.
A badge in the builder's header shows where things stand. It reads Saved to your account when everything is stored and Saving while a change is on its way. When a save cannot happen, for example after your session ends, it says why and offers a link to sign in again.

Your characters
Your characters page lists every sheet you have made, each with Open and Delete. Delete asks before it removes anything. Your account page shows how many characters you have, with a button to reach them.
NPCs have a place here too. New NPC opens the builder straight in the Crucible, its NPC workshop, and saves the result to your account the same way.
Display settings such as text size, motion and contrast stay in the browser where you set them.
The builder lives on convergencestudios.net. Links to it from the wiki's domain bring you back here, and you may need to sign in once more.
Press Build a character at the top of any page, or go straight to your characters.

Behind the scenes: the Desk, arranged by team
We rearranged the Studio Desk around the teams who use it, so writing, marketing and admin staff each reach their own tools first.
