Character builder update: your feedback, built in
Published · 1 min read

This update to the character builder comes from playtest feedback and from requests within the studio. Thank you to everyone who playtested and told us what they needed.
Bonuses that show where they come from
You can now record a bonus together with its source, such as +1 Instinct from a Blessing bought with background points, or +10 speed. Bonuses work on any of the six attributes, speed, max Health, max Stamina and Armor Class.
The sheet then shows where each number comes from, for example Instinct 14 (+1 Blessing).
Hit points your way
Hit points for each level after the first can be Average, Maximum or Rolled. With Rolled, you type in the die result for each level, and Might and Conviction are still added for you. A level without a roll counts as the average until you enter one. Stamina takes bonuses too.

Custom weapons
Make a weapon of your own. Give it a name, damage dice such as 1d8 or 2d6+1, a damage type, its properties, the attribute it attacks with and an attack bonus. It gets attack and damage rolls like any other weapon, and it prints on your character sheet PDF.

Inventory and features
- Inventory items now carry a description, a value, and fields you name yourself, such as Material: Mithril or Charges: 3.
- The Inventory page of the Play sheet now shows your item lists, which it was hiding.
- A Features page on the Play sheet lists your class features up to your level, plus your aspect, race and philosophy features.
- You can add features of your own there, say for a blessing or a gift from your GM.
- Classes whose features are not in the builder yet say so on that page.
In the Crucible
In the Crucible, the NPC builder, the role buttons are easier to read before you pick one. The gold look of the role you have picked stays as it was.

Find it all under Build a character in the header, or open your characters and try it on a sheet.

Behind the scenes: the Desk, arranged by team
We rearranged the Studio Desk around the teams who use it, so writing, marketing and admin staff each reach their own tools first.

Behind the scenes: boards, email and Drive
The Studio Desk is where we plan as well as publish. Staff now share task boards, the studio mailbox and a shared Drive folder in one place.
